All About Trading Pins:

We are not really sure where the idea of trading pins started, but it has blossomed into part of baseball and softball tournaments that many kids and adults look forward to.

Many tournaments have a day or scheduled time for allowing players, coaches, umpires and family members to trade pins with one another. It lets people meet one another, talk, and not be so competitive.

Types Of Pins:

Soft Enamel:   Offset Printed:

Soft enamel pins are the highest quality pins that you will see at events. They are known for the thickness and depth with raised areas of metal separating the enamel or paint used to color them.

Offset printed pins are great if you have a tight budget. They are lighter weight, thinner and easier to produce which lowers the cost. Since they are printed they work well with gradiants or shading.

How Soft Enamel Pins Are Made:

    1. A pin design is made

    2. A skilled machinist then makes a die or mold.

    3. Metal is formed or stamped with the mold.

    4. Pin backs are attached

    5. The metal is plated

    6. Each area of color is FILLED BY HAND by skilled artists.

    7. The pins are then dried and packaged.

    8. The pins then are shipped to you to enjoy and trade.

How Offset Printed Pins Are Made:

2. The design is printed on sheet metal

3. Pin backs are attached.

4. A protective layer of epoxy is added to the top of the pins.
